A clean government, who works for his people and work well-being of its people, these are the three criteria that the President of the African development, validate good governance. He made this remark as part of a major session at the Annual Meetings of the ADB, May 29 in Arusha, Tanzania.

The seminar was entitled “Good Financial Governance in Africa: How to get rid of aid. With panelists to Donald Kaberuka, the AfDB President, Pravin Jamnadas Ghordhan, South African Minister of Finance, Maria Kiwanuka, Minister of Finance of Uganda and Steve Freer, Chief Executive, Chartered Institute of Financial Accounting.

This session discussed different aspects of good governance with public financial perspective as the establishment of good governance in public financial areas such as budget preparation, execution and reporting, as well as the definition priority areas for reform.
