South Africa: Pule Takes Monitoring, Evaluation to Traditional Leaders (allAfrica.com, 13 April 2011)
Pretoria — Serious about promoting accountability, Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Dina Pule, has met with representatives from the National House of Traditional Leaders in Pretoria in a bid to make monitoring and evaluation everybody's business.
Working together with government, Pule said the House must ensure that there is a governance framework that guides how the institutions of traditional leadership should function within government prescripts.
"Monitoring of such a governance framework will be of paramount importance, which means we must be accountable and transparent at all times. The House must encourage good governance in general in order to improve lives of ordinary people," Pule said.
